The 14th International Myeloma Workshop

The 14th International Myeloma Workshop was held from April 3rd to 7th. It is the first time that the workshop was convened in Japan.
To share latest research advances about multiple myeloma, a kind of blood cancer, approximately 1,700 medical experts from 60 countries attended, and lectures and discussions regarding new treatment options and the pathogenic mechanism were presented.
The welcome reception party was held in the Japanese-style garden, with many cherry trees in full bloom. Entertainment including fireworks, Kyomai (Kyoto style dance), Japanese drum and the shamisen performance brought additional excitement to the guests.
